CIMB receives the highest number of awards at the inaugural MyClear Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards

 

Kuala Lumpur: CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB”) garnered five awards at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (“MEAA”), an event that recognises contributions made by the business community in accelerating the development of electronic payments ("e-payments”) in Malaysia. Specifically, CIMB emerged as winner in the categories of:

 

  • Best JomPAY Bank
  • JomPAY Innovation Award
  • Best Customer Experience for JomPAY (Corporate)
  • Best Customer Experience (DirectDebit)
  • Top FPX Acquirer (Bank)

 

 

Tengku Dato’ Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group Chief Executive, CIMB Group said, “We are honoured to be awarded Best JomPAY Bank in recognition of our efforts to spur JomPAY as a key collection and payment channel. CIMB was among the industry’s first movers of JomPAY and it has since provided our customers an added means to transact reliably, securely and efficiently. We will continue to intensify our efforts in providing innovative and value-adding e-payment solutions like JomPAY to meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

 

CIMB also received the JomPAY Innovation Award for creatively bundling JomPAY with its suite of cash management solutions like automated collections, payments and account reconciliation. The awards for Best Customer Experience for JomPAY (Corporate)Best Customer Experience (DirectDebit) and Top FPX Acquirer (Bank) were further testimony to CIMB’s significant contribution to the e-payment system value chain via products like BizChannel@CIMB and robust distribution of Financial Process Exchange (or FPX) solutions.

 

The MEEA was organized by the Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Negara Malaysia that operates Malaysia’s key payment systems and financial market infrastructures.
