Overview

Fostering diversity and inclusion (D&I) is fundamental to who we are as an organisation. As an ASEAN bank, we believe in the power of D&I to help shape a more open, inclusive, and equitable society.

We are committed to cultivating a workplace where everyone is treated fairly—regardless of gender, age, background, beliefs, ethnicity, skills, or abilities. Our progressive policies and inclusive programmes ensure that merit drives all aspects of our employee experience, from recruitment and development to progression, opportunity, and rewards.

Core Diversity and Inclusion Principles

Equal Opportunities and Fair Treatment
We aim to provide equal opportunities for employment, development and career progression based on objective criteria, merit and with due regard for diversity.
Inclusiveness, Dignity and Respect
We strive to maintain a work environment that promotes positive well-being and one where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

Core Diversity and Inclusion Programmes

Women in Leadership

We are committed to advancing women in leadership and fostering a culture where female talent can thrive. Our approach is anchored in merit-based progression, supported by dedicated initiatives such as the CIMB Signature Leadership programmes and targeted skills development designed to empower women.

We recognise that leadership journeys are strengthened by an inclusive and supportive environment. Through flexible work arrangements, family-friendly policies and comprehensive benefits, we enable women to pursue their professional ambitions while balancing personal responsibilities. To drive lasting change, we continue to engage senior leaders through our Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Series Dialogue, reinforcing our commitment to gender equity at every level.

Gender Pay Equality

Fairness in compensation is central to CIMB’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities. We continue to prioritise equality in economic participation, closely monitoring gender pay equity as a key measure of our progress. As of 2024, the gender pay ratio at the Group level remains balanced at 1.00 (male) to 1.01 (female), consistent with our commitment to maintaining parity and a pay gap that stays within a 5% threshold.

By continuously monitoring and addressing gender pay equality, we reaffirm our dedication to building a workplace where all employees, regardless of gender, are recognised, valued and compensated equitably for their contributions.

Diversity and Inclusion Training

We are dedicated to building a workplace culture that embraces diversity and fosters inclusion through thoughtful policies, learning programmes and awareness initiatives. By promoting openness and equity, we aim to create an environment where every individual feels valued, respected and empowered to grow.

Our training programmes are designed to inspire and equip employees with the tools to navigate and thrive in diverse teams. From recognising unconscious bias to strengthening communication and promoting inclusive leadership, we continue to embed diversity and inclusion into everyday practices across the organisation.
