Glenn Yusuf and Watanan Petersik Appointed to Board of CIMB Group

Kuala Lumpur: CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (formerly known as Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings Berhad) (CIMB Group) is pleased to announce the appointments of Mr Glenn Muhammad Surya Yusuf and Mrs Watanan Petersik as Independent Non-Executive Directors of the Company effective 25 January 2010. Mr Glenn Yusuf is a prominent figure in the Indonesian corporate scene, having over 28 years of experience in the corporate and financial sectors, including a tenure at Bank Niaga (1985-1994) where he rose to the position of Finance Director, and serving as the first Chairman of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) from 1998 to 2000. He was also President Director of PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Tbk from 2003 to 2007. Mr Glenn Yusuf has served on CIMB Group’s International Advisory Panel since 2006 and was Deputy Chairman of the Bank Niaga – Bank Lippo Integration Steering Committee in 2008. Mrs Watanan Petersik, a Thai national, is presently an Independent Director and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of CIMB Thai Bank Public Company Limited (CIMB Thai). She joined the Board of CIMB Thai in 2007 as a nominee of Texas Pacific Group (TPG). Mrs Petersik has had vast experience in the financial services industry spanning more than 23 years and has spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs and three years as an Adviser to TPG. In announcing the appointments, Dato’ Sri Nazir Razak, Group Chief Executive of CIMB Group remarked “These appointments align the complexion of our Board with the regional nature of our business today. A third of our Board are now non-Malaysians.” He added “Pak Glenn and Khun Watanan are already familiar to us. They will certainly enhance our stature as a regional franchise; and their own wealth of knowledge and experience in finance will also be of great value to the Group.”
