CIMB's engagement initiatives include:
New Staff Orientation Programme
We conduct staff orientation every two months to assist new employees in adjusting to their jobs and work environment. It helps them understand what is expected of them, and what to expect from others, in addition to learning about the values and work ethics of the organisation.
Employee Engagement and Exit Surveys
In addition to the staff orientation, we also perform online Employee Engagement Surveys every two years to gauge the commitment of our workforce. They serve as a basis for initiating improvements that may be necessary. CIMB also conducts Exit Surveys for those leaving the organisation. All these surveys enable us to measure the involvement and motivation of our employees at different stages of their careers.
Internal Communications
Internal communications is also an important area of focus for us. We promote open communication within the organisation and reach out to our 37,000 employees across the region via CIMBnet, the communication and collaborative portal for CIMB Group. Through the same platform, the Group CEO reaches out to the staff through his own “CEO's Blog” to better cascade key messages to all staff. He updates his blog every week and replies to comments posted by staff.

We have also established a Corporate Sponsorship Scheme to enable continuous professional development. Our employees have the options to pursue part-time or full- time studies towards diplomas, degrees, post-graduate degrees and/or professional/technical certifications. It is the central resource for identifying and enabling the Group's talent pool to develop their leadership capabilities through be-spoke in-house programs delivered in partnership with top-tier executive development institutions.

It encourages communities to work together to identify and solve problems, cultivate socially valuable relationships and support leadership development.
The Foundation's programmes for community development include those aimed at environment, health, national unity and socio-economic development.
The Foundation supports activities related to sports development with a particular focus on efforts aimed at nurturing young talent, providing opportunities, financial support and programmes for the development of young athletes.
The Foundation supports sports development and community sports initiatives in various sports including squash, rugby, cycling, badminton, golf, tennis, recreational running, and many more.
As a fundamental part of our activities, CIMB Foundation supports projects that provide learning opportunities to the younger generation. One of the main programmes under this pillar is the CIMB Regional Scholarship.
The scholarship programme enables outstanding individuals from all Southeast Asian countries a chance to pursue full-time postgraduate degree programmes at top graduate schools throughout the world. Every year, a maximum of 5 scholarships are awarded to deserving individuals who can play a significant role in the development of Southeast Asia.
